Jo Tyson is our candidate in the Hindpool by-election for Barrow Borough Council on Thursday 6th May
I am Joanne Tyson. I am standing as a candidate in the Barrow Borough Council by-election in Hindpool on Thursday 6 May.
I hope you will consider casting your vote for me so that I can help the people of Hindpool over the next couple of years.
Our Labour Council has provided great support to our community through Tory austerity and then Covid. But, the recovery from Covid could take some time and we all need to work together so that people are not left behind.
We need Councillors who will actively work within our community and not just go to the Town Hall to vote on committees.
In the past, I worked for the Council’s housing department for several years. My role was working directly with tenants’, residents’ and community groups on a range of issues so I have first hand experience of the various issues facing our Hindpool community.
I have also actively worked as a volunteer with the Girl Guides, Citizens Advice Bureau and as a school governor. I am currently volunteering with a community group and also as a swimming teacher and coach.
If you elect me, you will be getting a Councillor with a solid track record of actively supporting communities and someone who will stand up and be a strong voice for the people of Hindpool.
It would be a huge privilege for me to represent the Hindpool community and hope you will consider casting your vote for me on Thursday 6 May.
With many thanks and best wishes.
